This information is worth repeating ......
The proposal will make health care more affordable, make health insurers more accountable, expand health coverage to all Americans, and make the health system sustainable stabilizing family budgets, the Federal budget, and the economy:
- It makes insurance more affordable by providing the largest middle class tax cut for health care in history, reducing premium costs for tens of millions of families and small business owners who are priced out of coverage today. This helps 32 million Americans afford health care who do not get it today – and makes coverage more affordable for many more. Under the plan, 95% of Americans will be insured.
- It sets up a new competitive health insurance market giving millions of Americans the same choices of insurance that members of Congress will have.
- It brings greater accountability to health care by laying out commonsense rules of the road to keep premiums down and prevent insurance industry abuses and denial of care.
- It will end discrimination against Americans with pre-existing conditions.
* It puts our budget and economy on a more stable path by reducing the deficit by more than $100 billion over the next ten years – and more than $1 trillion over the second decade – by cutting government overspending and reining in waste, fraud and abuse. http://www.whitehouse.gov/healthreform/summary

President Barack Obama did what no other President could accomplish. He passed landmark health care legislation. The United State of America has a new health care policy. What is important to note regarding this Health Care policy - that options that weren't available to people will now become available. Healthcare for 95% of American is a beautiful thing.
The signing ceremony was awesome and historical. The President said he would do it and he got it done. So many American have struggled through life without healthcare due to escalating cost, and pre existing conditions just to name a few, but today we have seen real change!
How historical is this moment in time? President Obama’s Healthcare victory is the largest social program since the 1965 Medicare act signed by President Lyndon Johnson and 1935 Social Security Act of Franklin Delano Roosevelt.
Change is not popular but if you can lay a solid foundation, a basic framework, it provides a basis to build a stronger edifice. Thank you so much Mr. President for doing what you said. You really are working to make America a better place. I support you and I am so proud of you!
